Following the directive by the Federal Government to Security Agencies to relocate to the North East, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC, Abdullahi Muhammadu has set up a Special Squad for Bama, Christened the Special Bama Squad (SBS).
Muhammadu said this while addressing the Corps Management team, Zonal Commanders and State Commandants, government directed the Army, the Civil Defence and the Police to provide 1,500 personnel each from their respective organizations, which the NSCDC has complied fully with, and has also prepared logistics to cater for the Civil Defence personnel who will be stationed inside the Bama community to receive the Emir and other returnee from the Internally Displaced Persons Camp (IDP).
He said aside the 1,500 personnel already donated by the Corps, the NSCDC has set up a special squad known as the Special Bama Squad.
According to him, tThe Special Bama Squad is an additional good number of personnel who will carry out round the clock patrol duties in all the nooks and crannies of the Bama community and its surburb.
Similarly, the Commandant General charged all the Corps Personnel to be patient, tolerant and civil in approach and action, and to remain steadfast in the discharge of the Civil Defence mandate.
He eulogised the former leadership of the NSCDC for the courage exhibited in taking the NSCDC to high level before he took over the reins of leadership.
Muhammadu highlighted that the Agro Rangers, another Special Force of the NSCDC , are to protect the 300 ranches in Nigeria, based on the agreement with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. All these are in a bid to boost Investors confidence in the Agricultural Sector in Nigeria.
The Chief Executive Officer revealed that the Ebonyi, Niger and Ogun State Commands headquarters respectively would be constructed this year with many more to be constructed later.
He beckoned on Officers and Men not to be deterred in any way as their welfare is utmost priority in his agenda, affirming that, Officers and Men must get all that is their right under his keen watch.
Muhammadu also assured personnel that the ongoing promotion exercise is one of his promises on Staff welfare, and it will be carried out in line with the principle of Public Service Rules by the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prison Service Board with high level of fairness, equity and justice.
The Commandant General again cautioned desperate job seeking applicants to be weary of scammers., saying the warning was to dissuade applicants not to fall prey of fraudsters who will use this promotion exercise as a platform to mislead them that the ongoing promotion exercise is for recruitment.
