Lagos State Police Command now has a new Commissioner in the person of Imohimi Edgar, who today resumed office.

His assumption comes less than twenty-fours hours after the out-going Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni denies transfer rumours, saying he was not aware of the appointment of a new police commissioner for the state.

Owoseni told newsmen at the Command, Ikeja, that he was yet to receive any directive concerning a new police commissioner in the state.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, the handing over ceremony between Owoseni, and Edgar, took place few hours ago at the state police command in Ikeja.
The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris had removed Owoseni and appointed Edgal, as the new Commissioner.
Edgal was in June promoted to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police and was in charge of Operations in Lagos.
He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police, as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, serving in various commands and formations of the police within the country in several capacities, spending most of his days at the Lagos State Police Command.
Edgal, a graduate of Art at the University of Jos, and a master degree in Public and International Affairs at the University of Lagos, is highly trained on Community and Intelligence Gathering Policing, enabling him in organising the first Community Policing summits in Ikeja.
