Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC, in Niger state has arrested two suspected rapists in Kontagora Local Government Area.

The suspects are: Abdul Mohammed, 25 and Naziru Salisu, 23.

Commandant of the Corps, Philip Ayuba who made this known in Minna, said the third suspect identified as Bayo was at large, saying the suspects were arrested by officers of the Corps who were on routine patrol in Kontagora town.

Ayuba said the Corp had commenced a comprehensive investigation to unravel the reason why the suspects committed the crime, saying during interrogation the two suspects confessed to the crime but pleaded for clemency.

He said the 17-year-old victim of their dastardly act had been taken to Kontagora general hospital for comprehensive medical test, saying all the suspects would be charged to court.

The Commandant warned parents against allowing their female children go to isolated places alone as cases of rape were becoming rampant.
