FCT Police Command has arrested three armed robbery suspects at Zuma villge in the FCT.
Police Public Relations Officer, Anjuguri Manzah who made this known, said the suspects were arrested today.
Manzah, a Deputy Superintendent of Police named the suspects as: Ibrahim Abubakar, 22, Suleiman Idris, 25 and Biraje Baupe, 24 from Tudun Wada and Baragoni villages in Bwari.
He said the suspects confessed that they stole a motorcycle from a motorcyclist at gunpoint in Mpape, listing the items recovered from the suspects to include, one locally made revolver pistol, three live cartridges, one Bajaj Motorcycle, Tramadol tablets and assorted charms.
Manzah said the arrest was the outcome of proactive measures deployed by the command to fight crime in the territory, saying the Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the command’s Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
The spokesman said the command had commenced effort to identify the owner of the recovered motorcycle and possibly hand it over to him.
The command had July twenty-three arrested a fleeing suspected Boko Haram member at Gwako area of Gwagwalada Area Council.
