Niger Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) said on Tuesday that it had secured 0.979.9 hectares of land for the construction of its command headquarters and barracks in Minna.

NIS Comptroller in the state, Virginia Oyedeji commended the State Government for providing the land, emphasising that the gesture was a step toward the realisation of the service’s dream of building an ultramodern command headquarters.

“Very soon, the contractor will be mobilised to site for the commencement of the projects,” she said.

She said the project, when completed, would ensure effective service delivery among the staff.

The Comptroller also disclosed that similar office projects would be executed in the 25 local government areas of the state.

She disclosed that Bako, Kacha and Kontagora local government areas had already provided lands for the construction of offices and barracks.

Our officers in the mentioned local government areas are working very hard to get the necessary documents of the lands allocated to the service,” she said.

We will provide befitting offices and residential accommodation for our officers in all the local government areas to ensure better service delivery,” Oyedeji said.
