Commissioner of Police in Kwara, Olushola Amore, has warned residents of the state to be security conscious as Boko Haram insurgents are fleeing Sambisa forest in Borno.
Public Relations Officer, DSP Ajayi Okasanmi, said the recent dislodging of the sect members from the Sambisa forest by the military posed a security threat as there was the possibility of the insurgents infiltrating the state.
He advised the residents to watch out for person or persons finding asylum or shelter in different communities in the state.
Stakeholders in Kwara are hereby alerted on the threat situation and advised to watch out for person or persons finding asylum/shelter in different communities across the state.
Or posing as new converts into religious folds in order to attract the sympathy of unsuspecting communities to enable them hibernate and re-strategise for terrorist activities,” he said.
The commissioner also urged landlords, tenants, religious and community leaders to also be on alert.
He said all hands must be on deck to ensure that the state was safe from terrorist activities.
