Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), Abdullahi Muhammadu, said the corps had requested for additional 10,000 personnel from the Federal Government to boost its operations.
Muhammadu said if granted, the additional manpower would enhance the Corps’ activities across the country.
The commandant-general said this during the decoration of promoted Officers of the Corps, ACGs at the Civil Defence Academy, Sauka, Abuja, on Wednesday, advising Applicants to be wary of fraudsters who would want to deceive them to pay money for recruitment.
the Corps, for now, was neither recruiting nor doing replacement as it was rumoured in different quarters, urging officers and men of the Corps to be patient and tolerant in all their official conducts, as well as in all spheres of life.
He said as it was their lot to defend the defenceless, they owe it a duty to be very civil when dealing with the civil populace, always, saying officers and men of the Corps had performed very well in 2016 and urged them to do better in 2017.
