FRSC Zone RS5 at the end of its 4th Quarter Retreat held in Benin on Wednesday, with the theme: “Sharing Solutions for Sustainable Crash Reduction”.

According to the Zone RS5, relevant agencies and bodies can assist the Corps in the provision
of rescue equipment, to ensure prompt assistance to auto crash victims.

“Timely rescue is necessary for the survival of a crash victims, but in most cases, there are
so many impediments due to lack of equipment to carry out the rescue of the crash victims.

“There must be a synergy between the FRSC and other bodies such as NEMA, Red Cross, Police, Army and even construction giants like Julius Berger and RCC, who can assist with the state of the art equipment for rescue activities,” it said.

Also contained in the communique was the need for FRSC personnel to be abreast with the ‘Golden Hour’ and how to handle it.

Also, the Zonal Commanding Officer of FRSC RS5, comprising Edo, Delta and Anambra, Kehinde Adeleye, said it was important that every FRSC staff had in-depth knowledge of the Speed Limiting Device and its operation.

He said staff should know that there was a difference between a vehicle tracker and the Speed Limiting Device.

Adeyele added that a strong synergy between the FRSC and other sister agencies was needed for effective implementation and execution on the enforcement of the Speed limiting Device.
