Commandant-General (CG), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abdullahi Muhammadu has congratulated the people of Ondo on the success of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
NSCDC Spokesman, Emmanuel Okeh, said the CG also commended personnel of the corps, INEC officials and other security agencies for their role in the peaceful exercise.
Muhammadu spoke while appraising the performance of the corps during the election at a meeting held in the NSCDC headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
The NSCDC had deployed 15,000 personnel to complement other agencies in the provision of security during the exercise.
The CG said synergy among the various security agencies contributed largely to the success of the election, which had received high ratings from poll observers.
He said the security agents exhibited a high spirit of espirit de corps, urging them to sustain the tempo in future joint operations.
Muhammadu said he was proud of the “excellent performance’’ of NSCDC’s personnel in all the governorship elections held so far in spite of inadequate provision of logistics.
He urged the personnel to be patient with the management in the payment of their allowances, saying the Federal Government was working to make funds available for the purpose.
