Chairman of the Senate Committee on Navy, Isa Missau, has complained that the facilities of the Nigerian Navy are inadequate in the face of growing insecurity in the country.

Missau, who was on a visit to inspect facilities at the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) in Calabar with other members of his committee, promised they were going to ensure the Navy gets more all that it needs to carry out their duties effectively.

The committee chairman, who was conducted round by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Rear Admiral James Oluwole, said: “We are here to visit Eastern Naval Command to see where we can help the Nigerian Navy, especially now that the country is facing a lot of difficulties in terms of insurgency and other security matters.

He, however, commended the efforts of the Navy in carrying out their duties, despite the resources at their disposal.

The FOC, Rear Admiral James Oluwole, expressed delight at their visit, hoping it would bring dividends to the Navy.
