Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC, Abdullahi Muhammadu, has directed the immediate deployment of fifteen thousand Personnel for the forthcoming Ondo Gubernatorial Poll of the November 26.

Muhammadu said the Corps as a Critical Stakeholder in election monitoring has the role to play before, during and after the election, charging the Acting Deputy Commandant General Operations, Hillary Madu, to relocate his office to Ondo state for the purpose of the election in order to guarantee free and fair election without violence, rancour and gerrymandering.

The Acting DCG is to be assisted by two Assistant Commandant Generals in Charge of Zone A Lagos and Zone G Abeokuta with five Commandants drawn from the neighbouring states, while the personnel are to be re-deployed from Kogi, Edo, Osun, Kwara, Ekiti and Ogun state Commands respectively to complement the deployment of personnel from Ondo state Command and the special monitoring team from the Headquarters in the forthcoming Assignment to all nooks and crannies of the state.

Muhammadu advised the personnel to work in synergy with other sister security agencies in order to ensure peaceful conduct of election without rancour and any personnel caught or found involving in any act of misconduct will be dealt with in accordance to the law and ethics of the service.

He also approved the deployment of sniffer dogs, Specialised Units such as the SWAT, CBRN, CTU, Undercover and Special Forces to protect the Critical Infrastructures and National Assets situated in the state and its environs from been vandalised by criminal minded individual(s) who take advantage of activities like this to carry out their nefarious act.
