Wife of the Ogun State Governor, Olufunso Amosun, has said the wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, has shown interest in the case of a nine year-old boy, Korede Taiwo, chained by his father, Pastor Francis Taiwo.

The governor’s wife said Mrs. Buhari had been interacting with her about the case of the young Taiwo, adding that her interest showed that she is indeed the “mother of the nation” .

Amosun’s wife disclosed this during her visit to the boy, who is currently at the Paediatric Unit of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta.

She expressed happiness about the state of mind of the boy, despite the harrowing experience he had gone through in the hands of his father and step-mother, Kehinde Taiwo.

Speaking with newsmen, the hospital’s Head of Paediatrics Department, ‎Dr. Morufat Ogundeyi, said the boy is being managed in a case of child abuse and chronic malnutrition.

She assured that the young Taiwo in the next few days would come out better from his situation.

The matter is already taken to court. Criminal sanctions will be fully deployed to those who are culpable and I assure you that I have the mandate of the Excellency, the Governor, that I as the Attorney General will follow the case with due process and ensure that the culpability is established,” the Commissioner for Justice said.
