Detectives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command are currently grilling six suspects in connection with the murder of a mother of seven and Redeemed Christian Church of God pastor, Mrs. Eunice Olawale.
Olawale was killed in Kubwa, a satellite town in the FCT, while preaching.
FCT Commissioner of Police, Alkali Usman, said he had ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department to lead a discreet investigation into Eunice’s murder.
Usman condoled with the family of the deceased over the tragic incident and assured them and other residents of the area of the commitment and determination of the Command to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime and bring them to justice.
According to him, six suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder are in police custody and currently undergoing interrogation; The outcome of the investigation will be made public.
Usman said contrary to reports that the deceased’s head and leg were chopped off, apart from marks of injury inflicted on some parts of her body, all parts of the deceased body were intact, saying the police had taken custody of her remains for preservation and examination.
He urged residents and members of the general public to remain calm and cooperate with the Force in the ongoing investigation, saying the command could be reached through the following emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653 and 08028940883 during distress or to assist the police with information in respect of the murder.
Meanwhile, Wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo, has visited the family of the late Assistant Pastor of the Divine Touch Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God,RCCG, Abuja, who was murdered while evangelising.
The 42 year-old mother of seven, Mrs. Eunice Olawale was killed by assailants while preaching around Gbazango-West area of Kubwa in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
Osinbajo, also a pastor of the RCCG, visited the family of the deceased and was received by Pastor Elisha Olawale, his children and other church members.
In her condolence message, Osinbajo wrote, “May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
