Lagos State Police Command has recieved one hundred hundred level four bullet proof vests and ballistic helmets from the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.

The gesture is part of the strategy of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration at ensuring a safe, secure and prosperous State.

Chairman of the Trust Fund, Oye Hassan-Odukale, while presenting the bullet proof vests, said the Fund and by extension the State Government was still doing a lot to ensure the security and welfare of Lagosians were protected.

Hassan-Odukale said the thrust of Governor Ambode’s government was to ensure security of lives and property was given top priority and by so doing, businesses would thrive in Lagos state and there would be more infrastructure and more employment and the state could be very prosperous.

Receiving and wearing one of the donated vests, Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the Trust Fund had constantly come to the aid of the Police in the areas of critical needs.

Owoseni said the Command had been a major beneficiary of donations of security equipment by the Trust Fund and government, saying the gesture was a remarkable feat that was worth emulating by other states.

This is even as he appealed to corporate bodies to start partnering with security agencies to improve infrastructure nationwide.

Executive Secretary of the Trust Fund, Doctor Abdulrazak Balogun while stating that businesses and investments can only thrive in a secured and conducive atmosphere, said there was a need for the Organized Private Sector,OPS, to continue to support government, especially by complementing the sincere and genuine efforts of the present administration at securing lives and property.

Balogun, a former Deputy Majority Leader in the State House of Assembly, appealed to the private sector to continue to support the fund.

He said as Lagos continues to grow and improve, security challenges continue to increase and they need to forestall this problem in future and they could only do that with the continuous support of the private sector.
