The Ilorin Emirates Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU, has commended the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Jimoh, for his distinguished career, professionalism and contributions to national service.

Its National President, retired Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, ACG A. A. AbdulMalik, gave the commendation when he led other members of the union on a courtesy visit to the Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.

AbdulMalik described AIG Jimoh as a disciplined, principled and dutiful officer whose conduct reflects the values of integrity, good character and responsible citizenship.

The visit also provided an opportunity for the IEDPU delegation to appreciate AIG Jimoh, a prominent son of Ilorin, for his contributions to the development and progress of the community, and his leadership role in maintaining peace and security across Lagos and Ogun States.

Speaking during the visit, ACG AbdulMalik thanked Almighty Allah for His continued grace and blessings upon the life and career of the AIG.

He noted that Jimoh’s professional accomplishments demonstrated the values instilled in him during his formative years.

AbdulMalik particularly referenced Barakat Community Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State, one of the schools established by IEDPU, where AIG Jimoh received his secondary education.

According to him, the school is committed not only to academic excellence but also to instilling sound moral values, discipline, good character and responsible citizenship in its students.

The IEDPU President expressed confidence in AIG Jimoh’s ability to continue discharging his responsibilities with diligence, integrity and respect for the rule of law, stressing that his conduct reflects the virtues expected of an alumnus of the institution.

Responding, AIG Jimoh expressed appreciation to the IEDPU leadership and members of the delegation for the visit, goodwill and continued support throughout his career.

The AIG acknowledged the union’s longstanding interest in his professional journey, describing the recognition as both an honour and a reminder of the responsibility attached to public service.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the professional discharge of his constitutional responsibilities, guided by the rule of law, respect for fundamental human rights, justice and fairness.

AIG Jimoh further assured that justice would be pursued without fear or favour, irrespective of an individual’s social status, position or class.

He reiterated the commitment of Zone 2 Headquarters to working closely with relevant stakeholders to safeguard lives and property, maintain public order and promote a safe and secure environment for residents of Lagos and Ogun States.

The courtesy visit underscores the importance of sustained engagement between the Police and community stakeholders in strengthening public confidence, promoting peace and supporting effective security across the zone.
