The 2023 Association of National Olympic Committees World Beach Games scheduled to be held in Bali next month have been cancelled.
This came after the Indonesian city withdrew as hosts, giving the Olympic Committees no time to find an alternative.
Bali was set to host the second edition of the World Beach Games and the event included 14 sports like beach soccer, beach volleyball and surfing.
Doha in Qatar hosted the inaugural edition in 2019.

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen is confident the team will put up a good showing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Osimhen who is proud of the Super Eagles, said the team has great players who will do well at the continental fiesta and bring home the trophy.
The Napoli striker who said it was a privilege to play for Nigeria, noted that the team has experienced players and leaders like Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo and Wilfred Ndidi, who have been helpful to the younger players.

Ahead of their ninth appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which kicks off twentieth July in Australia and New Zealand, the Super Falcons are setting their sights on surpassing their previous achievements at the tournament after touching down at their base in Australia.
Nigeria is yet to miss any edition of the tournament since it began in 1991, but the farthest they have gone in the competition was the quarter-finals at the 1999 edition in the United States.
Despite dominating the African continent with eleven WAFCON titles, the team is yet to make it count at the world level, only reaching the round of sixteen of the World Cup in 2019, after being dumped out in the group stages before 1999 and after.

The Nigeria National League NNL, has agreed to stage the final group games of the Super Eight playoffs simultaneously.
Its Head of Operations of the NNL, Emmanuel Adesanya who stated this, said the development was to ensure fair play among the teams in the Southern and Northern Conference groups.
The last group matches of the promotion playoffs will hold on Wednesday.

Niger United coach, Yekini Adebayo, has blamed his team’s draw against Kano Pillars to missed chances, noting that his team had better chances to win Tuesday’s encounter at the Ardova Handball Premier League in Benin.
In some other games in the men’s category, Confluence Stars beat Bendel Dynamos 22-15, Police Machine defeated Lagos Seasiders 23-22.

The England international, Mason Mount has told Chelsea fans a move to Manchester United is “what’s right for him at this moment in his career”.
Mount addressed supporters in a social media video on Tuesday.
He has agreed a transfer to United on a five-year contract for a fifty-five million pounds fee, plus five million pounds in add-ons.
The midfielder joined Chelsea at the age of six, and he realises some Blues fans will not be pleased with his move.

West Ham captain, Declan Rice will undergo a medical ahead of completing his one hundred and five million pounds move to Arsenal after the two clubs reached full agreement over his protracted move.
The two London teams had been haggling over the payment structure linked to the one hundred million pounds guaranteed portion of the fee.
But the clubs have now settled on the fee being paid in three instalments over twenty-four months, with Rice now due to undergo a medical ahead of signing his contract.

Manchester United have launched a crackdown on ticket touting by asking fans to inform on other supporters who have charged them more than fifty pounds for a seat for Premier League games at Old Trafford.
The club encouraged fans who have fallen victim to touts to anonymously provide details of where they bought the ticket and how much they paid for it.
United said last month they are contacted by around three hundred fans at each home match who have been stung by touts and ‘often bought tickets at vastly inflated prices, and sometimes buying seats that does not even exist’.

The Morocco international was a target for United last January, prior to them bringing in Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich, however, Fiorentina would not let him go.

The Centre Court crowd gave the Swiss great a prolonged standing ovation interspersed with cheers as he entered the royal box.
