As part of concerted measures to boost the morale of enforcement operatives and in line with statutory requirements of law enforcement in Lagos, the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps popularly known as KAI decorated 25 newly-promoted operatives of the Agency with new ranks in a decoration ceremony held at the Agency’s Command Headquarters, Bolade-Oshodi.

In her opening remarks, Corps Marshal of the Agency, retired CP Gbemisola Akinpelu admonished newly-promoted operatives to guard their new ranks with jealousy, eschew corruption, serve as role models to junior officers and improve on service delivery in their daily operational duties.

She also added that the T.H.EM.E.S agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to make Lagos cleaner, Greener and habitable must be actualised as she charged the operatives to exhaust the Agency’s mandate on a daily basis to make Lagos cleaner, hygienic, aesthetically resplendent and free from all environmental infractions.

Expressing optimism that the Agency’s leadership could be steered by operatives in the future, the Corps Marshal urged the operatives to show workings of their new ranks and remain unrelenting in their discharge of lawful duties in the State.

Also speaking, the Deputy Corps Marshal (Intelligence), Ganiyu Salami admonished the operatives to see their new ranks as a call to duty and keep working for their promotions in line with the extant rules of the Lagos State Civil Service.

In the same vein, the Deputy Corps Marshal (Operations), Ganiyu Kazeem sued for increased gallantry from operatives and enjoined them to discharge their duties without fear or favour in the nooks and crannies of the State.

The highlight of the ceremony was the decoration of the Most Senior Officer of the Agency, Osifeso Oluwasegun who was promoted to the rank of Law Enforcement (Environmental Sanitation) Deputy Marshal and 24 other officers that stepped up to the next level of Senior Law Enforcement (Environmental Sanitation) Superintendents and Law Enforcement (Environmental Sanitation) Superintendents.
Responding on the behalf of the operatives and giving the closing remarks for the ceremony, Head, Environmental Services, Osifeso Oluwasegun appreciated the charge and urged his colleagues to step up in fostering the Agency’s mandate in the State.
He also assured the management that no stones will be left unturned when it comes to keeping Lagos environs clean and hygienic.
The ceremony had in attendance the Head, Administration and Human Resources, Oshungbuyi Moses, other distinguished management staff and members of staff.
