The forty-sixth Annual Conference of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, ICSAN, is Scheduled for Thursday fifteenth and Friday, sixteenth of September.

The ICSAN annual conference themed; The National Debt Burden: Causes, Effects, and Realistic Economic Solutions, is holding on Thursday at the Muson Centre, Lagos.
While ICSAN annual Dinner and Awards to Distinguished Nigerians in the Public and Private Sector of the Economy holds on Friday.
According to ICSAN, Director General, Budget Office of the Federation, Ben. Akabueze, will deliver the Keynote address while Minister for Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola is billed to Chair the Opening Ceremonies.

Speaking at a pre-conference media interactive session, ICSAN Vice President and Chairperson of the conference, Funmi Ekundayo revealed that a select body of faculty were put together to shed light on this and other related knotty national issues with a view to proffering solutions.
According to her, as it’s usual with the institute, “the conference will afford members to get together, talk and provide guidance to the government on germane National issues or subjects”, adding that “the programme shall be a genuine dialogue to proffer solutions to the National Debt Challenge and find a way out of the national quagmire”.
In her words, aside from the main theme, the Institute has made room for three sub-themes to drill deeper and drive home ancillary parts of the theme also germane to the wellness of the economy and society in general.
She informed that Head of Service of the Federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, will deliver the first sub-theme: Public Administration: Entrenching Sound Governance Principles for Macroeconomic Growth while Resident Commissioner, Independent Corrupt Practices & Other Related Offences, Shola Shodipo, FCIS, President Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, will be discussants, and the session will be moderated by President, Ogun State Customary Court of Appeal Hon. Justice Mobolaji Ojo as Chairman.
Ekundayo said the conference’s second sub-theme is “Beyond Governance: The Role of Dedicated Followership in participatory Democracy” will feature Lecturer, Department of Political Science, Lagos State University, Prof. Sylvester Odion-Akhaine, as speaker.
She stated that Senior Lecturer, University of Lagos, UNILAG, Samuel Oloruntoba, ACIS, and Editor, Business Day, Tayo Fagbule, will discuss the paper with Chairman, Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission, Babatunde Osibodu, ACIS, serving as Chairman and moderator of the session
Ekundayo revealed that Company Secretary, MTN, Uto Ukpanah, FCIS, will deliver the third sub-theme of the conference: “The Evolving Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) Compliance Landscape in Nigeria: A New Dashboard for the Chartered Secretary while Justina Lewa, ACIS will feature as a discussant.
According to her, ICSAN has received registrations from participants from many countries and is still expecting more from across the world.
She noted that the dinner and awards night will have as Chairman of Dinner, Prince Yemi Adefulu, FCIS, and Chairman of Council, Tai Solarin College of Education, Ogun State and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, as Guest of Honour.
According to the Chairperson, ICSAN holds its annual national conference as the institute’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to give back to society as it discusses topical and germane issues affecting the nation with a view to providing realistic economic solutions for the nation.
She said at the end of each conference, it issues a detailed communiqué and shares the same with relevant government agencies and the presidency for implementation as a possible way forward.
The 2022 conference will be preceded by the “ICSAN Walk 4 Life”, a keep fit initiative. It’s a 3km walk and aerobic session which holds on Saturday 10th September. The start-off point is ICSAN Secretariat at the Alausa CBD. Walk 4 Life is open to members, friends, and associates of the institute while it will also feature the inclusion of the hearing impaired community and networking opportunities.
