Lagos State Judicial Panel on the restitution of victims of SARS brutality and other matters has continued its sitting.

During the day’s session, six petitions were listed for hearing, which involved Okoliagu Abunike vs the FSARS, further hearing on the Lekki Concession Company, as well as Emmanuel Ajomafuwe vs the Nigeria Police Force.

Others are Adeyemo Rotimi vs FSARS, Felix Lucky vs the Nigeria Police Force, and Marc Chidiebere Nwadi vs the Nigeria Police Force.

At the commencement of the sitting, the first case was adjourned until December 18, following the absence of the petitioner, Okoliagu Abunike.

Thereafter, the counsel to the #EndSARS protesters, Adeshina Ogunlana, requested that some clips of the CCTV footage of the Lekki tollgate be viewed to ascertain if the camera was automatically or manually operated.

According to him, there are changes in the time of the camera operation on October 20 – the day soldiers shot to disperse protesters at the Lekki tollgate.

The Managing Director of the LCC, Abayomi Omomuwasan, however, affirmed that the cameras were preset to work automatically.

The counsel for the #EndSARS protesters, Adesina Ogunlana has prayed to the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Enquiry and Restitution for Victims of SARS related abuses to order Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and twelve others to appear before it.

Ogunlana (SAN) who crossed-examined the Managing-Director of Lekki Concession Company, LCC, Yomi Omomuwasan submitted an application to panel chairman, Judge Emeritus Doris Okuwobi to that effect.

The counsel is urging the panel to bring the invitees before it to provide information concerning the Lekki shootings of October 20 or its aftermath.

Ogunlana had earlier told the panel to invite Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), over “discovery” of a video camera at the Lekki toll gate on the night of October 20.

The Nigerian Army has denied #EndSARS protesters allegations that it shot at, injured and killed several peaceful protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate.

Besides the governor and minister, the others named in the application include Chief Executive Officer of Loatsad Promomedia Ltd, Mr. Seyi Tinubu; Managing Director, Oriental Hotel; Divisional Police Officer, Maroko Police Station and Lekki Concession Company Officials in charge of information Technology Intelligence and Security.

Ogunlana also requested that the panel invite officials of seven private and government-owned hospitals.

They are: Chief Medical Director, Lagos Island General Hospital; Chief Medical Director, Reddington Hospital, Lekki and Victoria Island; Chief Medical Director, Grandville Hospital, Ajah; General Hospital, Ikeja; Chief Pathologist, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

The rest are: The Provost, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH); The Chief Medical Director, Orthopedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.

They “have played certain roles to qualify as being part of those who can give relevant and useful information to the Panel for use to it purpose as regards the ‘Lekki Shooting’.

“We intend to interview such before the Panel by the kind permission of the Panel,” Ogunlana said in the application.
