In line with the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project, Lagos-Ibadan section, with extension to Lagos Port at Apapa, the Lagos State Government will close down Badia Junction and Gaskiya level crossing on Saturday and Sunday, from five in the morning to ten in the night.
According to Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, the Construction Company, China Civil Engineering Construction Company Nigeria Limited would commence Track lying on the level crossings on the Apapa end of the railway.
He asked motorists trying to access Badia from Ijora 7up to navigate their ways through Marine Bridge to link Boundary inwards Olayinka Street to connect Gaskiya Road and finally reach Badia, while those coming in from Lagos-Badagry Expressway to Badia to utilise Orile inwards Sari-Iganmu road inwards Gaskiya Road to connect Badia.
Road users were advised to comply with the Traffic directions provided, the Traffic Management Personnel on ground and road signals to minimise inconveniences that might be experienced during the construction work.
While enjoining all motorists plying the axis to comply with the traffic directions provided during the temporary closure, the statement informed that traffic management personnel as well as road signals will be available to aid road users’ movement and minimise inconveniences that may be experienced during the period.
The Transportation Ministry reiterated the determination of the State government to provide a seamless multi-modal transportation system that will meet the needs of the populace.
