In the final phase of the recovery operation to ease the traffic situation, caused by Abule-egba multiple vehicular accident at Al-maruf bus stop.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has deployed its Heavy Duty Crane to recover the upturned truck before being attacked by miscreants.

Commenting on the multiple accident and incessant attacks on responders by miscreants, the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu stated that, “Ten persons (10) including a baby were evacuated from the scene to a nearby hospital.

According to him, the overturned truck was recovered with the Agency’s Crane, but could not be evacuated from the carriageway by the Agency’s SuperMetro because the team was attacked by miscreants.

He said the team has been forced to suspend the Recovery operation for safety reasons.

In his words, it is of note that this attack is part of a very worrisome trend of first responders being attacked in the course of their duties.

He urged Lagosians to refrain from endangering the lives of emergency responders and allow them to carry out their lifesaving duties”.
