Lagos State Government has noticed the unpleasant events that have occurred today following the degeneration of the anti-SARS protests.

Some policemen have been injured in attacks on RRS vehicles on Herbert Macaulay and Alapere; ordinary citizens have had their lives disrupted in many ways.

The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu Administration abhors violence in any form and warns all those behind these disturbing incidents to stop them as the government will not allow any breakdown of law and order.

According to Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, Governor Sanwo-Olu is doing everything possible to ensure the crisis stops as soon as possible.

He urges Lagosians not to panic but to pray for peace, which the State desires, following the unfinished battle against COVID-19.

He urge all parents to ensure that their children do not become ready tools in the hands of criminals who may want to take advantage of the protests to perpetrate evil, saying all law-abiding Lagosians must ensure that criminals do not hijack the protests by our good-intentioned youths and make life difficult for our people.

It is the duty of all good citizens to ensure nothing is done to aggravate this situation.

Youths protesting police brutality and extra-judicial killings on Monday blocked entrances into the Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa.

The main gates to the government offices were shut by the protesters who said they are also demanding an end to bad governance in Nigeria.

Civil servants can be seen stranded as gates to their offices were locked.

While some civil servants can be seen carrying their bags and other personal belongings leaving the office premises others are reported locked up in their offices awaiting directives from their bosses on the next line of action.

There are multiple road blockages across Lagos city including the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Youth also cordoned off Lekki Tollgate, Berger bus stop, Gbagada, and other major locations preventing motorists from accessing the roads.

The three-week-long #EndSARS protest has held sway in different parts of the country with protesters seeking an end to police brutality among other things.
