President Muhammadu Buhari has restated his call for synergy between the Legislature and the Executive so as to ensure good governance and overall development.

The President who stated this in Abuja today, while flagging off the two-day joint executive-legislative retreat designed to promote harmonious working relationship between the two arms of government, commended members of the ninth National Assembly for understanding, support and quick response to policy directions of the government.

The President equally charged Nigerians to be patient with the government, advising that whenever there’s any legislation they have misgivings about, they should engage the process for such laws in line with democratic processes.

President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan said critical players in both arms of government must be equipped with information and tools necessary to develop strong and cordial relationships.

On his part, the Speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, said the legislature being part of the success story of the federal government is a testament to President Buhari’s commitment to nation building.
