Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspects involved in the kidnap of the Acting Director of Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaki Musibau and six others.
Musibau, Mufutau Adam, Funmilayo Adelumo, Asiogu Martha, Lasisi Muka and two other people, were abducted by some kidnappers last Saturday, along the Iwoye bridge on Itokin-Epe road.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, the arrests were made possible, following sustained and well coordinated operations by the Command’s Tactical teams, led by the Officer in Charge of Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Superintendent of Police, Bulus Musa.
Elkana, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the suspects were currently in police custody, while mop-up operations were still on to arrest the other members of the gang.
He said the suspects had confessed to the commission of the crime, saying two single barrel guns were recovered from them.
Meanwhile, there was jubilation as the freed Fire Service boss resumed work, as his colleagues were seen chanting songs of excitement as he went round thanking people for their support, while he was in captivity.
