Minister of Interior, Lieutenant-General Abdulrahman Dambazau, has ordered the closure of borders for the Saturday Governorship and State Assembly elections.

According to Dambazau, the order is with effect from Friday, at noon to Sunday, at noon.

Comptroler-General, Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede who announced this, said the order was to restrict movements across the borders during the election days.

Babandede said the public was to take note and ensure compliance.
