Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a notorious armed robber, Musa Imoran, who has been terrorising Agugu, a community in Ajegunle and its environs.

While parading the suspect at the Police Command headquarters, Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu who assumed office two weeks ago said the suspect was arrested by a team of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARSb) in Ajegunle.

Muazu said information was received from credible source on February 19, that some armed robbers were sighted around Agugu street, Ajegunle Lagos.

The source said the armed robbers were sighted with assorted weapons, robbing unsuspected victims of their valuables.

“Based on information, a team of SARS Operatives based in Ajegunle were mobilised to the scene and on sighting the operatives, the robbers scampered in different direction in their bid to evade arrest.

Luck however ran against Imoran and was arrested in the process. He was caught with one pump action gun with twenty unexpended cartridges, two pair of hand gloves, two chain belts were also recovered from him.

According to the Commissioner, the suspect, Imoran led the Operatives to their armory where an additional pump action riffle with thirty unexpended cartridges, one AK-47 magazine, with 24 live ammunition and one hundred rounds of Beretta pistol ammunition were recovered from the hide-out.

He however added that investigation is ongoing with a view to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang for prosecution.
