Nigerian Air Force in an efforts at improving the welfare of its personnel has commissioned 2 additional blocks of 10 one-bedroom furnished accommodation for single officers at 551 NAF Station Jos, Plateau State.

Speaking during the commissioning, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, said the project was geared towards enhancing the welfare of personnel to enable them focus on their tasks and contribute in adding value to the Service.

While congratulating the beneficiaries of the new accommodation, Abubakar enjoined them to make the best use of the facilities and also ensure their proper maintenance at all times.

Abubakar said the Service would not relent in ensuring that every personnel was adequately accommodated for increased productivity.

He reiterated the need for all personnel to be mindful of the fact that the task of nation building is a collective responsibility especially as the nation currently faces several security challenges.

Abubakar who spoke through Chief of Administration, Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Kingsley Lar, said one of the paramount constitutional responsibilities of the NAF is the protection of lives and property of all Nigerians, not minding their political or religious affiliations.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Commander 551 NAF Station, Air Commodore Kabiru Aliyu, expressed appreciation to the CAS for the continuous infrastructural development extended to the Unit.

According to him, the newly commissioned project, which would further reduce the burden of accommodation on the Base, would not have been possible without the dedication, wisdom and support of the CAS.

It would be recalled that the NAF, on 14 May 2018, completed and commissioned several projects in Kerang, Plateau State.
