Nigeria Police says it will pass out and post 817 newly-trained fresh personnel from the Oji River Police College to various state commands in the country, especially those in the South-East.

The posting of the new recruits, who were trained on various aspects of policing for the past nine months, would be done within one week time.

Spokesman of the Police Command in Enugu State, Ebere Amaraizu, said the newly-trained personnel would pass out from the college on September twenty-two.

Amaraizu, a Superintendent of Police said they would immediately report to their various commands for onward deployment to various police divisions, departments, units and squads.

He said the new personnel would help to beef-up security and increase the man-power availability of the police throughout the country.

“They are general duty personnel that would be posted to various commands in the country.

“Their specialised duty colleagues had earlier been deployed to the various departments and formations of the Force, where their services are highly needed,’’ he said.

One hundred and forty-four newly-recruited police personnel with specialised skills had been posted to various formations and departments earlier in the year.

The authorities of the college had suspended five of the newly-trained personnel for various acts of indiscipline.

A total of 966 fresh intakes of police personnel commenced training in the college on Dec. 31, 2016.
