Operatives of the Federal Anti Robbery Squad (FARS), Lagos State Command have arrested two members of a notorious armed robbery gang operating on the Oworonshoki expressway.
The suspects identified as Ahmed Olamilakan and Abiodun Ogunkanni and specialists in car snatching, allegedly snatched two vehicles from unsuspecting members of the public.
The suspects who operates on motorcycle trailed their victims to their home in the night before pouncing on them.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, who was worried by the activities of the notorious gang directed the officer in charge of FSARS, Mohammed Ahmed, a Chief Superintendent of Police, to go after members of the gang.
Based on the strength of the directive, Ahmed alongside some undercover agents, swung into action.
Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous- Cole who confirmed the arrested gave the chase numbers of Toyota Camry as 4TIBG22KXYU69371 and that of the Lexus as JI6GF10U0Y0058148, ENGINE NO 0578730GREY Colour.
Famous-Cole, an Assistant Superintendent of Police said the Camry car was snatched while the owner was negotiating a bend to go into his house to park.
He said effort was on going to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.
