Suspected members of the notorious badoo cult have struck again in Ikorodu, Lagos, killing four members of a family.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, a fifth member of the family that survived the attack is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole who confirmed the latest attack, said the police had so far, not uncovered any evidence linking the attack which took place at Oke Ota, in Ibeshe area of Ikorodu with the badoo cult.
Famous-Cole, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said they had commenced a murder investigation, but did not disclose the identities of the victims.
He also appealed for cooperation with the police in their efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.
Famous-Cole called on Community Development Associations chairmen, as well as traditional rulers who may be aware of residents staying in isolated areas, which are no longer safe, to report to the police to stop people from dwelling in insecure areas without proper social structures
He also informed members of the public to come forward with useful information to aid the police and not resort to jungle justice, while investigation was ongoing, saying this would ensure investigation was not jeopardised, and such information may also lead to the arrest of the alleged suspects, who were on the command’s watch list.
