Nigeria Police has ordered massive deployment of policemen for a hitch-free Eid-El-Kabir celebration across the country.

Also, all Assistant Inspector-Generals of Police in charge of zonal commands, were deployed to provide adequate personnel to praying grounds, recreation centres, among others.

Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris who gave the order, said the police commanders were also directed to collaborate with sister agencies and community leaders to monitor activities of undesirable elements in the society.

He said the Police Mobile Force, Counter Terrorism Units, Explosive Ordinance Department, criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department would also be deployed.

Idris said sustained surveillance and special attention would be paid to flash and vulnerable points among others during the sallah celebration and beyond.

He, however, implored them to be vigilant and continue to support the Police to prevent crimes in their localities, commending the commitment of officers in ensuring that security and peace prevailed throughout the country in spite of the enormous challenges.
