Thirty-one armed robbery suspects have been arrested in different parts of Lagos State in the last seven days.

Speaking at a weekly briefing, Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the suspects were arrested at Ojota, Oshodi, Victoria Island, Ikeja, Orile, Ikorodu, Igando and Anthony village.

Owoseni also said the leader of a militant group that terrorised Igando area was arrested on Friday.

He alleged that while some of the suspects trail bank customers, others attacked people at BRT bus stops in the morning and robbed motorists at traffic.

According to him, Items recovered from them include a Beretta pistol, two locally-made short guns, cartridges, ammunition, charms, speed boat and 12 vehicles.

The Commissioner who said the suspects would soon be charged to court, called on personnel of the command to be alert always, especially during the ember months and during the Sallah celebration.
