Muslim faithfuls have been congratulated on the successful completion of this year’s Holy month of Ramadan.

This became imperative as the Ramadan period, apart from providing a period for self-examination and deep reflection, has become a necessary tonic for religious commitment and nationalistic revitalisation.

National Leader, All Progressives Congress,APC, Bola Tinubu, who said this in his eid el-fitr message, also said Nigerians should feel the impact of the fasting and prayers in the new spirit of tolerance, good neighbourliness, patriotism, compassion and forgiveness.

Tinubu, a former Lagos State Governor, said unless these were reflected both in their private and public conduct, the teachings and lessons of Ramadan would be of no effect.

In her message, Senator Representing Lagos Central Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Oluremi Tinubu, urged muslims to regard this year’s fasting and prayer as an opportunity to build up spiritual values towards service to mankind and the nation.

She said the key tenets of Ramadan were to instil in the true believer a lesson in Self-denial, Sacrifice and Chastity, saying these were attributes that the nation needed at these trying times.
